At QRCodePro, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our QR code platform.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Email address
  • Name (optional)
  • Password (securely hashed, never stored in plain text)

QR Code Content

We store information you provide when creating QR codes:

  • Destination URLs
  • QR code styling preferences
  • Uploaded logo images
  • Custom text content

Scan Analytics

When someone scans your QR code, we collect:

  • Timestamp of the scan
  • Approximate geographic location (country, region, city)
  • Device type (iOS, Android, desktop)
  • Browser type and version
  • Hashed visitor identifier (for unique vs. repeat detection)

Important: We do not store raw IP addresses. IP addresses are hashed with a rotating salt and are not reversible. We do not use cookies or tracking pixels on QR code scans.

Payment Information

Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers, CVVs, or other sensitive payment details on our servers. We only receive:

  • Last 4 digits of your card (for display purposes)
  • Billing address
  • Transaction history

Usage Data

We automatically collect certain information when you use our platform:

  • Pages visited within our dashboard
  • Features used
  • Error logs (for debugging)
  • Performance metrics

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide our services: Create and manage your QR codes, process redirects, display analytics
  • Process payments: Handle subscriptions and billing through Stripe
  • Communicate with you: Send transactional emails (password resets, billing receipts)
  • Improve our platform: Analyze usage patterns to enhance features and performance
  • Ensure security: Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
  • Comply with law: Meet legal obligations and respond to lawful requests

We do not:

  • Sell your personal information to third parties
  • Use your data for targeted advertising
  • Share your QR code analytics with anyone except you
  • Send marketing emails unless you explicitly opt in

3. Data Sharing

We share data only with the following categories of third parties:

Service Providers

  • Cloudflare: Infrastructure, CDN, and edge computing services
  • Stripe: Payment processing

Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

Business Transfers

If Qwizzy is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

4. Data Retention

  • Account data: Retained until you delete your account
  • QR code data: Retained until you delete the QR code or your account
  • Scan analytics: Retained for 2 years, then aggregated (individual scan records deleted)
  • Payment records: Retained as required by law (typically 7 years)
  • Server logs: Retained for 30 days for debugging purposes

Update or correct inaccurate information in your account settings.

Request deletion of your account and associated data. You can delete your account from your account settings, or contact us for assistance.

Download your QR codes, analytics, and account information in standard formats (CSV, JSON).

Restrict Processing

Request that we limit how we use your data in certain circumstances.

6. Cookies

On Our Dashboard

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember your preferences. These cookies are strictly necessary for the platform to function.

On QR Code Scans

We do not use cookies when someone scans your QR code. Our redirect system is designed to be privacy-preserving—we capture analytics without setting any cookies or tracking pixels on the scanner's device.

7. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures:

  • All data encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3)
  • Data encrypted at rest
  • Password hashing with bcrypt
  • Regular security audits
  • SOC 2 compliant infrastructure (Cloudflare)

8. International Data Transfers

QRCodePro operates globally using Cloudflare's edge network. Your data may be processed in various locations worldwide. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international transfers, including Standard Contractual Clauses where required.

9. Children's Privacy

QRCodePro is not intended for users under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on our platform. Your continued use of QRCodePro after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
